Australian shortlisted tenderers - worthy of recognition
The tender process for the design of the Australian pavilion was strongly contested, with thirteen companies submitting proposals. The tender board, consisting of representatives from the National Museum of Australia, a professional architect and three senior representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including Australia's previous Commissioner General to the 2005 World Expo, selected five tenders for shortlisting. The five shortlisted companies, all of whom provided excellent design solutions, presented to the Tender Evaluation Board in Canberra in early June 2007.
